About Waiting Fee

When you are performing a Run or completing an on-demand job, the client or the recipient asks to wait because the items are not ready. You can use the "Start Waiting" button on your Runner's App to indicate that you have started waiting. You will be compensated for your waiting times.  Payments work slightly differently between Runs and On-demand jobs.

How does the waiting fee work with Runs at a pick-up location

If you are performing a 3-4 hour run, when you arrive at the pick-up location and are asked to wait, the first 10 mins of the waiting time is included in your EWT allowance. Any time after the first 10 mins will be added to your EWT (Estimated Work Time), and you will get paid for the final EWT amount.

Examples:

If you waited for 20 mins, and your run's EWT is 3 hours, your final pay will be 3 hours and 10 mins when you are performing a 3-4 hour run.

If you waited for 20 mins, and your run's EWT is 2 hours, your final payment will be 3 hours minimum pay when performing a 3-4 hour run.

If you waited for 1 hour, and no run was assigned to you at last, your final pay will be 3 hours if you perform a 3-4 hour run. Unless the client tells you so, you can only leave after the 3-hour finishes. If you do, it will be treated as forfeiting the run, and a cancellation penalty will apply.

If you waited for 2 hours, and your run's EWT is 3 hours, you have the right to ask the client to remove some jobs from the run to make it under 4 hours or continue with the run if you are happy to accept them when you are performing a 3-4 hour run.

If you waited for 3 hours, and your run's EWT is 40 mins, your final pay will be 3 hours and 30 mins when performing a 3-4 hour run.

At any given time within your run period, you decide to leave and give up the run; it will be treated as cancelling the run. You will be penalised for cancellation.

How does the waiting fee work with on-demand jobs at a pick-up location

If you are assigned a job or a group of jobs, when you arrive at the pickup place and are asked to wait, your waiting fee will be calculated as below:

If you waited for under 10 mins, you are not eligible for any waiting fee, as the first 10 mins are included in your pick-up time allowance.

If you waited more than 10 minutes, you would be paid $3.86 (ex GST) or $4.25 inc GST)  for every 10 min block.

The maximum waiting time at a pickup location is 30 mins.

Example:

If you waited for 18 mins, you will be paid $3.86 (ex GST)

If you waited for 24 mins, you will be paid $7.71(ex GST)

How long should you wait at a drop-off location

You should wait at most 10 mins at a drop-off location unless it is a particular circumstance. We can help look into the scenarios and apply fees on a case-by-case basis.
