How to Cancel a Return Request in the Runner App

Sometimes, a Return Request is submitted when the Recipient is unavailable — but what if the situation changes and they appear after you've already started the return process?

Here’s how to cancel a Return Request and complete the delivery as normal.


📝 When to Use This Feature

You might submit a Return Request if:

  • The Recipient is not home

  • There is no safe place to leave the parcel

  • You’re following proper Authority to Leave (ATL) guidelines or restrictions

In such cases, it’s correct to tap “Return Request” in the Runner App.


But What If the Customer Shows Up?

If the Recipient returns while you're still at the location and is ready to receive the parcel after you've already submitted a return request — don’t worry!
You can still deliver the item by cancelling the return request.


📲 Steps to Cancel a Return Request

  1. Open the Runner App

  2. Tap “Cancel Return”
    → This will immediately cancel the return request

  3. Tap “Mark as Delivered”
    → This will complete the job and record the delivery as normal

✅ Always ensure the Recipient has received the item in hand before cancelling and completing the delivery.


⚠️ Important Notes

  • Only cancel a return if you're still at the delivery address and the Recipient is now available to accept the parcel.

  • Do not attempt to re-deliver later unless advised by GoPeople Support.

  • Cancelling a return incorrectly may affect your performance record — always use this feature responsibly.
