Delivering alcohol is a serious responsibility. Strict laws apply across Australia, and as a GoPeople Runner, you must comply with all legal and platform-specific delivery requirements, including verifying identity, checking sobriety, and refusing delivery when necessary.

🗺️ State-by-State RSA/RSAT Requirements (Same-Day Alcohol Delivery)

State Requirements
🟢 NSW RSAT is mandatory for same-day alcohol delivery, even with RSA.
📍 Exempt: Gift hampers <1.5L, licensed venue, or scheduled deliveries.
👉 Complete RSAT
🟣 VIC RSA is required for all same-day alcohol deliveries.
📍 Exempt: Gift hampers, licensed venues, or scheduled jobs.
👉 Get RSA
🟡 QLD No RSA is required.
🔵 WA RSA is mandatory for same-day delivery.
📍 Exempt: Gift hampers <2L.
👉 Get RSA
🟠 SA No RSA is required.

🍾 Alcohol Delivery Requirements for All States

✅ 1. ID Verification (Mandatory as of 30 Sept 2024)

  • Always check and verify recipient’s government-issued photo ID

  • Ensure the person is 18+ and matches the name on the order

  • Accepted forms of ID:

    • AU or international driver’s licence

    • Passport

    • Proof of Age Card

    • Photo Card

🔍 2. Check Sobriety

You must assess the recipient’s level of sobriety before handing over alcohol:

  • If they appear intoxicated, slurred speech, unsteady, or aggressive, you must refuse the delivery

  • Look for red eyes, strong smell of alcohol, confusion, or difficulty standing or speaking

💡 Tip: If you’re unsure, it’s better to refuse delivery and contact Support for guidance.


🚫 Never Deliver To:

  • ❌ Anyone under 18

  • ❌ Anyone who is visibly intoxicated

  • ❌ Anyone without valid ID

  • ❌ Anyone not named on the order

  • Unattended locations, even if ATL (Authority to Leave) is selected


❌ How to Refuse a Delivery (Politely & Safely)

If the recipient:

  • Can’t provide ID

  • Appears drunk or high

  • Is under 18

  • Isn’t the named person

✅ Say:

“I’m sorry, by law I cannot leave these products with you. Please contact the company you ordered from to arrange a refund or re-delivery.”
