Safe to Leave Guidelines (For Senders to read)

Safe to Leave Guidelines are designed for Runners to follow if delivery has ATL (Authority to Leave) but no one is present at the drop-off location to accept the delivery.

Runners will be making judgement calls based on the following guidelines. Runners are also asked to follow the delivery instructions if anything specifically left on the job to overrule the guidelines.

Units/Apartments

  • Safe to Leave in the mailbox if it can fit.
  • Safe to Leave the delivery on the top of the mailbox if there are security cameras
  • Safe to Leave the delivery at the front of the unit/apartment door (follow the sender's instructions if there are any special requirements)
  • NOT Safe to Leave the delivery on the top of the mailbox, if it is not inside a secure building
  • NOT Safe to leave if the goods left can be seen from the busy street.

House/TownHouse

  • Safe to Leave the delivery behind bins, pillars or somewhere out of street view.
  • Safe to Leave the delivery in the mailbox if it can fit.
  • NOT Safe to Leave the delivery if the goods left can be seen from the busy street.

Businesses

  • Safe to Leave the delivery in the mailbox if it can fit.
  • Safe to Leave the delivery in the after hours parcel chute/parcel drop-box where applicable.
  • NOT Safe to Leave the delivery if the goods left can be seen from the busy street.

What happens if it is NOT Safe to Leave?

  1. Runner will try to call or text the recipient at least twice in a gap of 5 mins
  2. Runner will try to make contact with the Sender at least twice
  3. Runner will follow the recipient and Senderโ€™s instructions
  4. Runner will take photos and leave comments on the job as proof. E.g. Building intercom, Business hours signage or closed gates.

What is My Role as the Sender?

Communication is a key factor in a successful delivery. We want to ensure that all instructions before and during the delivery are communicated to the Runner. It is very much appreciated to ensure communications are fluent between yourself, your customer, Go People support and the Runner.
