To transfer a Run to another Runner, both of you must be in the same Mates group.
Important Rules for Run Transfers
- You can only transfer a run at least 30 minutes before it starts
- If you miss this cut-off, you will need to cancel the run instead
To avoid issues when transferring a run, make sure you communicate all relevant details to the receiving Runner, including:
- Run start time
- Sender requirements
- Run Runner Service Terms and Cancellation Policy
The receiving Runner has 5 minutes to accept the transfer request, so it’s recommended to call them directly to ensure they are aware.
How to Transfer a Run
- Go to the Run details page
- Click “...”
- Select “Transfer”
- Choose a Runner from your Mates group
- The selected Runner will receive a notification in their App Inbox
- They have 5 minutes to accept the request
- If they do not accept, you remain responsible for the run


After the Transfer
- You will receive a notification indicating whether the transfer was accepted
- Once accepted, the new Runner becomes fully responsible for the run, including all penalties and benefits
