Toll Road Usage Guidelines for Runners

2 min. readlast update: 06.02.2025

To ensure a smooth delivery experience, it's important to know when toll road usage is allowed and how toll fees are handled within the GoPeople platform. This guide outlines everything you need to know before hitting the road.

When You Can Use Toll Roads

You are permitted to use toll roads only when explicitly approved in the GoPeople Runner App.

Toll usage is allowed if:

  • The GoPeople App route includes tolls

  • The Sender has pre-approved the use of toll roads

  • The toll cost is included in your Delivery Services Fee

🔔 You do not need to contact GoPeople for confirmation if the app shows tolls as approved.

📱 How to Check for Toll Fees in the App

You can easily check if toll roads are allowed for a particular delivery by reviewing the Payment Report:

Steps:

  1. Open the GoPeople Runner App

  2. Select the Run in question

  3. Tap to view the Payment Report

  4. Look for the line labelled “Toll fee (estimated)”

🧾 Understanding the Toll Fee Field

Toll Fee Display What It Means
avoid ❌ Toll roads are not approved. You must take a toll-free route.
$X.XX (e.g., $8.50) ✅ Toll roads are approved, and the fee is already included in your payment. You may use toll roads for this delivery.

🚫 No Reimbursement Policy

Please note:

  • If tolls are not listed in the app, you must avoid them

  • If you choose to use toll roads without approval, GoPeople will not reimburse the toll charges under any circumstances

  • Your Delivery Services Fee includes the toll amount when applicable — no need to claim it separately

🛡️ Key Reminders

  • Always check the Payment Report before using a toll road

  • Never assume tolls are allowed unless stated in the app

  • Follow the assigned route unless instructed otherwise

If you're ever unsure, you can reach out to GoPeople Support for clarification before taking a toll route.
