📦 What to Expect at Pickup When Items Not Ready

Sometimes when you arrive at a pickup location, the items may not be ready. This article explains your options and how payment works for both On-Demand Jobs and Bundle Runs.


1️⃣ On-Demand Jobs

If you arrive at or after the designated ready time and the items are not prepared, you have two options:


✅ Option A: Cancel the Job

You may choose to cancel if:

  • The pickup time was booked incorrectly, OR

  • The items will not be ready within a reasonable timeframe

What you’ll receive:

  • A cancellation fee


⏳ Option B: Wait Until Items Are Ready

You may choose to wait if:

  • The order is currently being prepared

  • It will be ready within a reasonable timeframe

What you’ll receive:

  • A waiting fee

  • The full delivery fee


2️⃣ Bundle Runs – Items Not Ready Policy

For Bundle Runs, a structured buffer time (grace period) applies to support Senders who may experience preparation delays.

🕒 What Is Buffer Time?

Buffer time is based of the minimum Run duration:

Minimum Booking Buffer Time
Less than 5 hour run 1 hour
More than 5 hour run (including 5 hours) 2 hours

🅰 Scenario A: Wait (Within Buffer Time)

You may wait up to the full buffer time.

If you choose to leave before the buffer time expires:

  • ❌ No cancellation penalty

  • ❌ No cancellation fee

  • ✅ You will receive a waiting fee


🅱 Scenario B: Continue Waiting Until Items Are Ready

If you decide to stay until the items are ready:

  • ✅ You will receive a waiting fee

  • ✅ You will also receive the full delivery fee


🅲 Scenario C: Waiting Exceeds Buffer Time

If:

  • You have waited longer than the buffer time, AND

  • Items are still not ready

You may choose to leave.

What you’ll receive:

  • Full cancellation fee


📌 Important Requirements

Before leaving the pickup location:

  • ✅ Notify GoPeople Support via the app

  • ✅ Take photo proof showing items are not ready

  • ✅ Leave clear notes in the job comments

Failure to notify Support may affect payment eligibility.


🤝 Professional Conduct Reminder

Senders may be under operational pressure. Please:

  • Remain polite and professional

  • Communicate clearly

  • Negotiate respectfully if arranging a later pickup time

You may mutually agree with the Sender to return later if suitable.
